PLMA Unveils Final Innovation Hall Speakers and Seminars

More than 25 speakers and seminars at PLMA’s 2009 Private Label Trade Show Nov. 15-17 will demonstrate how to get current with cutting-edge innovations in retailing, marketing, technology, packaging, and quality control. The seminars, presented in conjunction with the launch of PLMA’s new Innovation Hall, will be held Sunday through Tuesday.
Kicking off the three-day seminar program at 1 p.m. Sunday will be “Optimizing the Store for the Retailer’s Brand.” The presentation by veteran software and retail marketing executive Wes Bray, president and CEO of Retail Optimization, Inc., will show how retailers are implementing new kinds of software and analysis to improve productivity and maximize store brand sales.
At the annual Keynote Breakfast, to take place Monday at 7:30 a.m., “Innovating to Build Better Private Brands,” will be the keynote address by Scott Lucas, executive director of Interbrand global branding consultants. He will focus on why innovation matters and how marketers are leveraging shopper insights to communicate value to consumers through smart use of packaging, in-store merchandising, advertising and promotion.
The annual Retail Trends Breakfast on Tuesday will feature Kieran Forsey, senior vice president of Agentrics. His presentation, titled “The Winning Formula: How Demand Chain Innovation Drives Growth for Store Brands,” will describe how some of the world’s leading retail companies use product lifecycle management to innovate and expand their proprietary brand programs.
In addition to the three general session speakers, a total of 22 innovation workshops will be offered concurrently during four separate half-hour sessions. Two sessions will take place just prior to the opening of the Innovation Hall on Sunday afternoon, with sessions also presented on Monday and Tuesday morning prior to the opening of the trade show floor.
Among the companies presenting are industry leaders in retail consulting, software and technology, marketing and research, design and packaging, merchandising, promotion, and testing and certification. They include A.T. Kearney, Aisle 9 Group, Audit Recovery, Inc., Avery Dennison, BRC Global, Datamonitor, GfK Custom Research, HP Indigo, ILS, Logix 3 LLC, Marketing Management, Inc., MeadWestvaco, Miller Zell, Mintel, The Nielsen Company, North Cliff Consultants, QMI-SAI Global, Silliker, STR – Specialized Technology Resources, united* dsn, Vestcom International, Wallace Church, and Willard Bishop Consulting.
