With the objective of growing sales by mid-single digits over the next several years, OfficeMax said it plans to sell its store brand office supplies in other retail outlets including grocery stores, drug stores and mass merchandisers.

he chain explained its is selling its store brand products outside of its own retail outlets because 90 percent of office supplies are not sold in office supply stores. Consequently, OfficeMax products will soon be sold at Safeway and Delhaize Group’s Food Lion, with other retailers reportedly to come.
OfficeMax also plans to target women with its marketing messages since research revealed that 70 percent of office supply shopping decisions are made by women, making the category a strong fit for grocery and drug stores.
