Sam’s Club expands its store brand wine offerings with the introduction of Infinite, a 2008 Spanish red wine that is a traditional Tempranillo variety with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Infinite will join several other store brand wines Sam’s Club has incorporated into its line up and will retail for approximately $8 a bottle in more than 400 Sam’s Club locations authorized to offer wine. Club membership is not required to purchase alcohol at Sam’s.
Infinite has a deep, dark cherry color and the aroma of blackberries and blueberries as well as bold spices, according to a company statement. The wine offers “a hip flavor profile with smooth, silky fruit on the palate, and soft tannins that evolve into a pleasant finish.”
The Spanish winery Bodegas Torres produces Infinite and is the first winery to make The Drinks Business’ Green List, of which only 50 entities throughout the world are recognized for their contribution and commitment to sustainability, according to the company statement. Torres was named on the list for its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, as well as environmental awareness campaigns aimed at consumers in the more than 140 countries that import Torres wine.
"Infinite is a great example of excellence in Spanish red wine. The thought and care that went into the making of this limited release wine is exceptional, and we are proud to be introducing it for under $10," said Mark Kenny, director of wine, beer and spirits for Sam’s Club.
