Green Bay Wis. — Winona Foods is proud to announce the launch of Winona Pure oils, the first truly viable cooking sprays with no additives or chemicals.
Winona Pure is available in olive, sunflower and canola oil, and offers the purity of a bottle with the convenience of an aerosol. With just one ingredient, the oil itself, Winona Pure is an appealing choice for the premium, health-conscious or eco-friendly consumer. These sprays fill a category void for a natural product that finally matches the effectiveness of leading aerosols.
Apart from being a completely free of propellants, alcohols and silicone, these oils were preferred in test panels over category leaders by consumers concerned with health and the environment. Winona Foods selected each type of oil for its varied uses in flavoring, cooking and/or baking, encouraging shoppers to purchase all three.
Additionally, Winona Pure oils appeal to the health-conscious consumer segment, which is on the rise and even experiencing increases during the recession. Growing media attention is focused on the dietitian-recommended moderate use of oils as a part of a heart-healthy diet low in saturated fat and high in Omega-3 and antioxidants.
How it works: New vacuum technology allows all-natural oils to perform like aerosol category leaders without the need for any additives. Winona Pure is powered by the air we breathe — when you press down on the nozzle, air rushes in and the oil is forced out, creating a fine but powerful spray. Pumps filled with bottled oil can’t compete—they clog, and don’t spray evenly. Winona Pure’s vacuum seal also ensures the oil is preserved and protected from contaminants as well as light, which causes break-down. A better taste increases loyalty from your customers.
The nozzle allows the consumer maximum flexibility—simply press gently for a droplet or stream of oil, or normally for a traditional spray. This makes for excellent in-store marketing demonstrations.
The health benefits: Additionally, Winona Pure oils appeal to the health-conscious consumer segment, which is on the rise and even experiencing increases during the recession. Growing media attention is focused on the dietitian-recommended moderate use of oils as a part of a heart-healthy diet low in saturated fat and high in Omega-3 and antioxidants.
A green product: Because of Winona Foods’ commitment to the Earth, every bottle is 100% recyclable, unlike leading brands. Many aerosol sprays are not recyclable because of pressure, or remaining liquids. Because Winona Pure uses vacuum suction, the contents are not under pressure, meaning you’ll never find a warning on the can, and it’s not combustible.
Less packaging is used, lowering the carbon footprint and also lowering transportation and handling costs for retailers.
