Calling out the manufacturer’s name on the label “allows us to call attention to the authenticity and credentials of the Swiss manufacturer, linked with the confidence our customers have in Wegmans brand products,” Mary Ellen Burris, the regional grocer’s senior vice president of consumer affairs, said in this week’s online column.

Known as hüppens in Switzerland, the 1.5-inch long crisp rolled wafers are filled with three flavors of Swiss chocolate cream in each box: praline (hazelnut), mocca (coffee and chocolate) and gianduja (chocolate and hazelnut). Each cookie has only 20 calories and there are about 35 assorted flavor wafers in each six-sided box.
