Midwest convenience store chain Kum & Go launched Hiland beer, the newest addition to its private label portfolio.
Available in 280 of the chin’s 430 stores in Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri, Hiland beer is available in four varieties –– Ice, Light, Lager and Reserve.
“Kum & Go listens carefully to its customers and works hard to meet their evolving needs. For instance, we know our customers continually seek high quality products at a great price. That’s one reason why we’re excited to add Hiland beer to our growing family of Hiland products. It reaffirms our company’s unwavering commitment to our customers,” said Kevin W. Krause, senior vice president of marketing for the West Des Moines, Iowa-based operator.
Made with the midwestern customer in mind, Hiland is brewed with traditional ingredients from America’s heartland and contains no preservatives, and is made by Minhas Brewery in Monroe, Wis., the second oldest brewery in the U.S., according to a company statement.
“During October, we’re hosting Hiland beer tastings in select Kum & Go stores,” said Melissa Billman, director of private label development for Kum & Go. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our customers to experience this American-made beer and truly enjoy the great flavors of the Midwest.”
Hiland beer varieties (Ice, Light and Lager) retail for $6.99 a 12-pack and $9.99 for a 20-pack. Hiland Reserve (a malt liquor) beer is available in 24-ounce single-serve cans.
