Awards will be presented to retailers in four categories -- product development, packaging design, consumer marketing and in-store merchandising.
Awards honoring the 2010 winners and their innovations will be presented by Store Brands Decisions during the 2010 PLMA Show in Chicago.
Sponsored by marketing communications firm GROUP360 Worldwide, the awards program is officially open for nominations.
Any store brands retailer is eligible for an award. Retailers can submit nominations for themselves or their suppliers can nominate them. To be considered for an award, a product/program must have been rolled out at retail between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010. Nominations close Friday October 22. A company may be nominated for more than one category, but may receive only one award as an organization, according to John Failla, founder and publisher of Store Brands Decisions.
“These awards are in keeping with our mission of recognizing and communicating best practices in store brands development, marketing and merchandising to help retailers and their private label partners improve profitability,” Failla said. “Product, packaging and merchandising innovation are the cornerstone of continued success in the marketplace, and we anticipate many nominations given the innovation we’ve seen over the past year.”
Store Brands Decisions will publish a special report on all of its award winners in January with its brand new Spotlight digital format, which debuted earlier this month, featuring Winn-Dixie. (Click here for rules and to make nominations.)
