Private label frozen vegetable blends containing peas at both Kroger and Walmart stores are being pulled from store shelves due to a voluntary recall instigated by manufacturer Pictsweet Co., due to the possibility of the products containing glass fragments.
The recall affects certain codes of Walmart’s Great Value frozen vegetables nationwide and Kroger’s own brand frozen vegetables in the southeast region, according to Pictsweet.
The specific products recalled include Kroger 12-ounce Green Peas, Kroger 12-ounce Peas and Carrots, Great Value 12-ounce Steamable Sweet Peas and Great Value 12-ounce Steamable Mixed Vegetables.
“No injuries have been reported to date,” Pictsweet said in a statement. “While no injuries have been reported, Pictsweet is advising the public that product from these packages indicated above should not be consumed. Consumers who have purchased the above product should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
