Over the past several weeks, Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. has stepped up its store brands promotions in an attempt to better connect customers with its store brands.

Through Feb. 1, the company recently announced on its web site that all shoppers who purchase 10 or more Food Club canned vegetables with their loyalty cards are automatically entered in a drawing with a chance to win a $100 in-store gift card.

Brookshire Food Club Frenzie imageAnother private label program, dubbed the “Food Club Frenzie,” involves surprise home visits where customers can earn $100 for each private label Food Club item they have in their house, with a maximum reward of $3,000. Those who have 50 Food Club items will also win a 50-inch flat-screen television. "Start stocking up on Food Club, because we might just knock on your door," the grocer wrote on its web site.

In another promotion it ran last fall, Brookshire also recently awarded a Camero to Lue Ann Robles, of Hillsboro, Texas. For every Food Club item purchased using their loyalty card, customers earned a chance to win a Camaro.

Five randomly-chosen finalists, including Robles, won a NASCAR weekend package, including tickets and pit passes to the O'Reilly Auto Parts and AAA Texas 500 races, a one-night stay at the Gaylord Texan, a $250 Brookshire's gift card, and a $200 Visa check card. At Texas Motor Speedway during the AAA Texas 500, all five drew a key in the hopes of turning on the ignition to the car, and Robles picked the winning key.
