In one of her first moves as CEO of Daymon Worldwide, Carla Cooper appointed Ed Wright –– a former executive vice president and longtime associate of the company –– to president and COO of its North American Brokerage.
Wright, a 28-year Daymon veteran, will be responsible for creating a fully integrated system to better align the company’s resources and partnerships. He will also oversee the relationship with Anderson Daymon, a specialized sales and marketing organization that has served Costco exclusively since 1983.
After serving in merchandising and operations in the independent food retail world for 10 years, Wright joined Daymon as a management development Trainee in 1983. During his first five years, he worked his way up through four different accounts and was named a vice president of the company in 1987. In 1992, Wright assumed the leadership responsibilities of Daymon’s Topco partnership as group vice president. He was again promoted in 1996 to executive vice president with increased corporate and customer responsibilities.
“Ed’s lifelong passion for retail combined with his keen intellect is a perfect combination for Daymon’s COO role,” Cooper said in a statement. “I look forward to working closely with Ed and I’m confident that his skill sets will result in greater heights of success for our organization.”
Daymon Worldwide, based in Stamford, Conn., is an employee-owned company specializing in developing store brand products and programs with approximately 100 large retailers around the world on behalf of more than 4,000 producers and manufacturers.
