Supervalu has launched a national private label beer under the Buck Range Light brand, which is retailing for approximately $5.99 for a 12-pack in most markets.
“Supervalu’s goal in creating a new private brand beer is to provide customers a fair, low price option with the same great taste as leading national brands,” said Trent McKinster, director of beer for Supervalu, which operates 4,270 stores under various banners.
Described as a high quality beer “that won’t break the bank,” the low-priced American lager can be purchased at Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Cub Foods, Farm Fresh and Albertsons Express and Jewel Express Fuel Centers.
Buck Range Light is Supervalu’s first entry into the value beer category. The grocer continues to offer a full-line of “private brand above brand premium beers” including craft beers RJ King Wingwalker and Metolius, and imported labels Gouden Haven and San Lucas, according to a company statement.
Supervalu said it continues to explore expanding Buck Range Light’s distribution into additional markets.
