"PC Greek Yogurt has a much thicker texture when compared to traditional yogurt," said Maria Charvat, vice president of product development for Loblaw. "The secret to Greek yogurt is achieved by draining the whey found in traditional yogurt, leaving a delightful creamy yogurt that is incredibly delicious."

Select Loblaw banner stores have also enhanced the yogurt section with special signage to help customers quickly and easily find the yogurt option that fits their lifestyle. Yogurts are now grouped into the following categories: kids, traditional, plain, light & diet, active health and organic.

Other new yogurt products at Loblaw include PC Blue Menu Yogurt Smoothie available in Strawberry, Mixed Berry and Mango; PC Yogurt Drink with Howaru, Protect Probiotics and Inulin in Strawberry and Strawberry Banana flavors; and PC 3% Plain Yogurt.

Management Restructuring
In other Loblaw news, the Canadian retailer is quietly restructuring its management team to better compete with a growing number of discounters entering its markets, according to the Toronto Globe & Mail.

The intent of the changes is to focus on its discount business, including the No Frills and Great Canadian Superstore banners, as more competitors enters Loblaw’s markets and grow their store count. Target Corp. plans to enter the Candian market in 2013 while Walmart has been rapidly growing its super center format.

Loblaw has reportedly created a new merchandising and operations team to work exclusively on its discount business, according to the report.

The restructuring will allow the company to “be more agile in responding to changes in the competitive environment,” Julija Hunter, a Loblaw spokeswoman, told the Globe & Mail.
