Agostoni Chocolate, an Italian farm-to-bar producer of all-natural premium chocolates, and Ganeden Biotech Inc., maker of the patented probiotic strain GanedenBC30, are expanding their line of private label chocolates.
The result of a joint product development and buyer-testing program in 2010, the new probiotic chocolate line is “fine-tuned to satisfy the price point, flavor profile and on-shelf presentation needs of private label OTC-supplement buyers,” the companies aid in a joint statement.
The new Agostoni program offers a daily supplement dose of premium dark chocolate combined with the GanedenBC30® probiotic in a 0.18 -ounce mini-disk format, available with 70 percent or 60 percent cocoa and in conventional or organic formats. The probiotic chocolates, which have 25 calories each, are individually flow-wrapped.
Agostoni and Ganeden previously partnered to develop a private label probiotic snack bar launched in 2010.
