Supermarket franchisee Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. rolled out its own line of brews, a light summer Pig Pen Pilsner with a blue label and a malty Pig Tail Ale with a red label, according to The State, a South Carolina newspaper.

Store managers around Columbia said they sold six packs of the beer, on sale for $6.99 from the original $7.99 price before Memorial Day, according to The State report.

“We’re really excited about the product,” Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. director of marketing Christopher Ibsen said. “Obviously, folks love The Pig and we thought it’s just a fun way to have a product that’s unique to our stores.”

“Pig Swig provides our customers with a high-quality, craft beer at a great price,” said Ibsen, according to South Carolina newspaper Bluffton Today. “We’re excited to add Pig Swig as one more reason to shop locally with The Pig this summer.”
Piggly Wiggly Carolina C. has more than 100 stores and more than 5,000 employee owners throughout South Carolina and southeastern Georgia
