Supervalu hosted Family Day at 11 stores this past weekend with a celebrity cook-off to promote its Stockman & Dakota private label meat line, and benefit local charities.
The event featured cowboy-themed games with Western-style prizes for the winners, hourly drawings for store gift cards and opportunity for guests to sample Stockman & Dakota premium Angus steak and samples from major national brands.
At the events – which took place at a variety of the grocer’s banners across the country, including Albertsons, Acme, Cub Foods Farm Fresh, Jewel-Osco and Shaw's – featured local celebrities who grilled up Stockman & Dakota steaks using their own special recipes. Visitors sample and vote for their favorite celebrity-prepared steak. The winning grill-master received a $5,000 donation to their charity of their choice; second- and third-place celebrities received $2,500 donation each to their charity of choice.
