Store Brands Decisions has opened nominations for its 2nd annual Retailer Innovation Awards. The program was launched last year to recognize inventiveness, leadership and ingenuity by retailers in store brands development, marketing and merchandising. Last years winners were featured in a special Store Brands Decisions SPOLIGHT published in January 2011.
Awards will be presented in four categories:
- Product Development: Includes new product concepts and new formulations of an existing product.
- Packaging Design: Includes packaging fabrication, structure and graphic design.
- Consumer Marketing: Includes creating campaigns utilizing traditional media (TV, print, radio, outdoor, direct mail, etc.), in-store media and digital media (web advertising, search advertising, social media social media, etc.).
- In-store Merchandising: Includes activities affecting the in-store experience such as on shelf displays, free standing displays, point-of-purchase programs and/or sampling/demonstrations.
Each nomination must be entered into one of the award categories. Retailers themselves, or their suppliers and agencies may submit nominations. Each nomination requires at least one photo of the innovation uploaded with the nomination.
An innovation must have been introduced at retail between October 1, 2010 and Aug. 15, 2011 to qualify for an award. A panel of industry experts will judge the entries.
Retailers who submit entries across all four nomination categories will be considered for the Retailer Innovator of the Year Award. Store Brands Decisions will recognize award winners at a reception during the PLMA Show in Chicago on Monday Nov. 14.
The deadline for nominations is Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. PST. Nominations for the Store Brands Decisions Innovation Awards may be submitted online HERE.
The 2011 Retailer Innovation Awards are sponsored by integrated marketing communications firm GROUP360 Worldwide.
