Huhtamaki has acquired the assets and business of Paris Packaging, a privately held manufacturer of specialty folding cartons.
The acquisition expands De Soto, Kan.-based Huhtamaki’s product portfolio for a more complete solution to foodservice operators and retailers of prepared meals.
“Paris Packaging’s high quality specialty folding cartons are an excellent addition to Huhtamaki’s product portfolio of tableware, cups, containers, carriers, trays and serviceware,” said Clay Dunn, president, Huhtamaki North America. “This acquisition is the first step in our strategy to build on our paperboard converting expertise. It significantly expands our ability to serve foodservice customers and demonstrates our commitment to growth in North America.”
Paris Packaging, which produces folding paperboard cartons for makers of pet products, food manufactures including frozen foods and quick-serve restaurants, operates plants in Paris, Texas; Andalusia, Ala.; and Hopkinsville, Ky.
“Becoming part of Huhtamaki is a great opportunity for all of us at Paris Packaging,” said Bill Carver, the company’s president. “Joining a global packaging leader with their broad customer base and product offerings, effective management and financial stability is good for our customers, employees and the local communities in which our people live and work.”
Huhtamaki manufactures consumer goods packaging under the Chinet brand for the foodservice industry and retail markets, as well as store brands packaging.
