Tesco’s Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is adding 130 new wines to its private label range at prices from $1.99 to $40 per bottle.

Nearly 170 of the 450 wines now offered at Fresh & Easy are exclusive to the company and many are award winning, with the retailer earning more than 200 medals in various international wine competitions. In June, Fresh & Easy won 39 medals at the 72nd annual Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition in for its private label and exclusive wines. The majority of the store’s wines retail for less than $10 per bottle.

“Having strong partnerships with local wineries helps us to create these high-quality, award-winning wines that are exclusively offered at Fresh & Easy,” said Richard Wherry, category manager of wine and beer.

Of the new offerings, many are part of the Big Kahuna line, the grocer’s top seller since its was introduced in 2007, according to the company. The Big Kahuna line, which retails for under $3 per bottle, will now include several more varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rose, Shiraz, Tempranillo, Sweet White and Crisp White.
