Ralcorp Delays Financial Report Pending Post Cereal Spin-off

Ralcorp was due to announce fourth quarter and full year financial results on Nov. 9, but will delay the release until after fully separating its Post Cereal business.
The company announced in July that it would separate Post from its remaining operations to focus on the private label business. This spurred a heated bidding war by ConAgra for Ralcorp with three escalating bids refused by management. ConAgra ultimately walked away from the deal.
Ralcorp has continued on its path to spin-off Post, which should be completed by year’s end. The release of this year’s financial results awaits the completion of a goodwill impairment analysis of its cereal business. The company expects to announce financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year 2011 by November 29, 2011.
The company did, however, confirm that its private brand businesses performed well overall during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011.
