Ralcorp Appoints Post Holdings Exec and Board Members

St. Louis-based Ralcorp Holdings is building out its executive team and board of directors for the soon-to-be separate Post Holdings Inc.

The company named Terence E. Block as president and COO of the new company, and member of the board of directors, effective Jan. 1, 2012. Additionally, Ralcorp appointed Barry Beracha and Patrick Moore to the new company's board of directors.
With Purina for 34 years, Block possesses expertise in operating and marketing consumer packaged goods. As president and COO of Post Holdings, Block will oversee the implementation of the company’s strategic plan, improving innovation, extending Post's portfolio of brands into adjacent categories and continuing to grow Post's presence among Hispanic consumers, according to a Ralcorp statement.

Before joining the board, Beracha served as executive vice president of Sara Lee Corp. and CEO of Sara Lee Bakery Group, which was created when Sara Lee acquired The Earthgrains Co. in 2001. Beracha retired from Sara Lee in 2003. Prior to that he served as chairman and CEO of The Earthgrains Co. from the time of its spin-off from Anheuser-Busch Co.’s in 1996, and served in various positions within Anheuser-Busch since 1967 and on the boards of directors of the Pepsi Bottling Group, McCormick & Company and St. Louis University.

Moore is president and CEO of PJM Advisors LLC, an investment andadvisory firm, and served as CEO of Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., from 2010 until his retirement in 2011.
Ralcorp said it’s on track to complete the Post spin-off by the end of this year.
