Retail experts from Facebook and Google will help store brands executives crack the code on the most effective digital marketing and social media strategies to enhance customer loyalty during presentations at the Store Brands Decisions Innovation & Marketing Summit March 1-2 in Chicago.
Facebook’s Maz Sharafi, global head of retail for vertical marketing, will tackle the subject on March 2 in his presentation titled “Starting Loyal: Harnessing the Social Internet to Drive Customer Visits and Increase Basket Size.” Julie Krueger, industry director of retail for Google, will follow with a look at “Digital Media Strategies for Store Brands.”
“With P&G’s recently announced plans to eliminate 1,600 positions and dramatically increase its activity in social media, it’s clear that digital marketing and social media can be the great equalizer for store brands consumer marketing," said John Failla, founder and publisher of Store Brands Decisions. "The Facebook and Google presentations at the Innovation Summit are the only opportunity retailers and manufacturers will get to hear directly from these companies on how store brands can leverage digital marketing and social media to drive store brands growth.”

Sharafi will examine the different ways in which retailers and brands are capturing value from their social marketing and will describe how — with the right approach — store brands can achieve their unique marketing objectives. He will offer tools for store brands to bring a holistic perspective to their social marketing strategy and how a focus on “social loyalty,” can drive higher in-store traffic and increase basket size.
Google’s Krueger will discuss the most recent changes in consumers’ media and shopping habits and how critical it is for store brands to fully develop digital plans as part of their marketing strategies. The session will look at the influence of online research and social media on consumers' decision making and the implications for today's integrated marketing plans. Krueger will also discuss how the exploding usage of smart phones is changing how shoppers “journey” from start to finish.
