Walgreens is playing games with its health and wellness store brands as a new sweepstakes promotes private label products.
Through February 25, shoppers who spend $20 in a single transaction on eligible Walgreens brand health and wellness products get a chance to win one of four $10,000 grand prizes and the hundreds of instant win awards given daily. Instant Win prizes include Walgreens gift cards in $5, $10 and $15 increments.
The Deerfield, Ill. based drug chain has been aggressively expanding and promoting its private label offerings. In the past year, it consolidated the Deerfield brand under the Nice! label and expanded the Good & Delish brand – acquired along with the Duane Reade chain in 2010 – across the entire Walgreens store base.
Meanwhile, Smart & Final launched a social media promotion and sweepstakes to increase awareness of it’s La Romanella Italians-style store brand. Winners will receive a grand prize trip for two to an Italian-inspired resort in Las Vegas.
The sweepstakes, which also includes a recipe contest, ends March 6. The grand prize includes roundtrip air for two, two nights accommodations, meals and assorted entertainment. Other prizes include eight $50 SmartCash Cards .
Commerce, Calif.-based Smart & Final, operator of 250 warehouse-style stores on the West Coast and northern Mexico, is supporting the sweepstakes thorough a dedicated La Romanella web page and its company Facebook page.
